**Day 1: Anchorage**

Upon arrival in Anchorage, make your own way to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure to enjoy the sights. With almost 300,000 people calling it home, Anchorage is the largest city and cosmopolitan centre of Alaska. A vibrant and unique city on the edge of the Alaskan wilderness, there are plenty of opportunities for exploring if you choose. The quaint log cabin visitor centre is a good place to start.

**Day 2: Chinitna Bay Bear Viewing**

This morning take a scenic 90 minute flight to Chinitna Bay, located on the southern end of Lake Clark National Park and Preserve. Chinitna Bay is home to a multitude of brown bears that come to the bay to feed on the protein rich sedge grasses, copious clams and fish the late summer salmon runs. You’ll travel with your guide by 4WD bus to where the brown bears are most active. Once at best location, you will disembark the bus and witness these magnificent animals digging for clams, sunning on the beach, or feeding in the meadow or out in the bay. Your expert guide will also share tales of the resident bears and their families. Return to Anchorage by plane, where the afternoon is at your leisure.

**Day 3: Anchorage > Seward > Fox Island**

This morning board the Coastal Classic train in the Goldstar Railcar for a breathtaking ride along Cook Inlet and the glacier-filled Chugach Mountains to Seward. On arrival, take a boat to Kenai Fjords Wilderness Lodge on exclusive Fox Island for lunch and an afternoon of optional activities. After dinner prepared by a gourmet chef, enjoy an evening at leisure or a beach campfire.

**Day 4: Fox Island**

Today, enjoy a guided sea kayaking trip through the protected waters of Resurrection Bay. Look for puffins, sea lions and seals as you explore the rocky coves of Fox Island. You can even spot whales close to the shore.

**Day 5: Fox Island > Seward**

After a hearty breakfast, depart on a Kenai Fjords National Park cruise, visiting the magnificent Northwestern Fjord with its three amazing tidewater glaciers and numerous alpine glaciers. Kenai Fjords National Park boasts abundant wildlife, alpine and tidewater glaciers and breathtaking scenery. You’ll also visit the Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge, an island home to teeming seabird rookeries. After seeing the untouched beauty of Alaska’s coastal waters, return to Seward this evening for your overnight stay.

**Day 6: Seward > Talkeetna**

This morning board a scheduled motorcoach to Talkeetna, travelling along the Seward Highway. Enjoy the natural beauty of south central Alaska as your driver gives you some history of the area along the way. Stop in Anchorage around midday for about 90 minutes before continuing to Talkeetna, a small but unique gold mining community, famous for its special charm and views of North America’s tallest mountain.

**Day 7: Talkeetna > Denali National Park**

This morning take the Denali Star, Alaska Railroad’s flagship train, in the Goldstar Railcar to Denali National Park. Your afternoon is at leisure to enjoy optional activities such as whitewater rafting down the Nenana River, helicopter flightseeing over the park, landing on a glacier or hiking.

**Day 8: Denali National Park**

Today immerse yourself in the vastness of the Denali National Preserve on a helicopter tour with glacier landing. On your way to the massive Yanert Glacier, your pilot will serve as your guide through this unique glacially-carved environment. Soar over the rolling tundra, keeping an eye out for local residents such as caribou, moose, bear and Dall sheep. After flying over the snow-capped peaks and glaciers, set down on a river of ice for approximately 15 to 20 minutes of glacial exploration with endless photo opportunities.

**Day 9: Denali National Park > Fairbanks**

Choose from optional activities in the morning before transferring to the Alaska Railroad station and boarding the Denali Star to Fairbanks, enjoying the late afternoon scenery.
